Profiles: Michael Kirwan

Michael Kirwan has been practicing Yoga and meditation since 1986. He completed a four teacher training course with the respected British Wheel of Yoga in 1990 and furthered this with Iyengar teacher training in 1995. He has continued training in Astanga yoga with world renowned teachers the Northfields and Richard Spahn.
Michael has vast experience in teaching yoga and has improved the quality of everyone’s life that has had the good fortune of being part of his motivating class. Michael provides his students with both a rewarding physical workout and an insight of the benefits of the various postures. He has a background in psychology and psycho-therapy and he uses this experience to give his students a calm, energised feeling throughout his classes. He teaching background encompasses remedial yoga from the Yoga for Health Foundation in Bedfordshire which he now applies in various Rehab centres throughout Dublin. He also teaches widely at various Fitness Centres in and around the Capital.
Michael’s desire to learn more about yoga remains undiminished and he still spends a number of weeks abroad and at home each year studying under various teachers. Michael will be presenting the Yoga Philosophy portion of our Teacher Training program. His understanding of psychology helps deepen the student’s philosophical approach by unveiling how to live your yoga practice in your daily life.
